Rooted in her training in Printmaking (Graphic Arts) at Tama Art University, Lin has developed a practice she describes as “collecting events.” Beginning with the unpredictable marks generated by printing pressure and the element of chance in collage, she observes how everyday objects, spatial fragments and other people form temporary constellations. As her methods expand into print media, readymades and mixed media, she traces the layered ecologies that emerge between natural and artificial matter, urban environments, and the improvised lives that slip through the gaps of systems and rules. Running quietly beneath these processes is a persistent question of how to sense and think being-with—with others, with things, and with the environments we inhabit. This ongoing inquiry now forms a core foundation for her future artistic practice and research.

多摩美術大学美術学部版画学科（グラフィックアーツ専攻）での学びを背景に、リ・リンは自身の実践を〈出来事の採集〉と呼んでいる。版画の印圧によって立ち上がる予測不能な痕跡や、コラージュがもたらす偶然性を手がかりに、日常のなかにある物や空間の断片、他者との関係性を、一つひとつすくい上げるように観察していく。プリントメディア、レディメイド、ミクストメディアへと方法を広げながら、自然物と人工物、都市環境、そして制度やルールの隙間で生まれる即興的な生態が折り重なる、多層的な関係のネットワークを見つめている。その背後には常に、「他者やもの、環境と共に在るための感覚と思考」という軸が通底しており、この問いこそが、今後の制作とリサーチを支える基盤となっている。
